Employment and Education Verifications: The Real and The Fake image

Here in the background screening industry, professional verifications are an important part of a candidate’s profile.  Verifications help match the candidate’s experience to your company’s needs and potentially indicate a steady work history as a predictor of future performance.

Unfortunately, in today’s world there are sites that provide applicants with fake verification products and services.  This service makes the process so much harder to validate and it is sad that people use these sources in order to “be a better fit” for a job by padding a resume.

That is why it is important to know that pay-stubs, W-2's and even certifications and/or diplomas can be easily produced and should not be accepted as a standalone proof of employment or education.  Only verifications done by a certified screening company can be counted on to validate your applicant’s claims.

While, as a certified screening company, we don’t have a lying detector for fake verifications, we will go as far as possible to ensure your candidate is who they say they are.
