The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing animal cruelty. The mission of the ASPCA is “to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.” The ASPCA aims to create a community in which “all animals are treated with respect and kindness.” The ASPCA carries out its mission by focusing on four main areas: Anti-Cruelty, Animal Health Services, Community Outreach and Government Relations. The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) is a civil rights organization that advocates for equality for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals. The vision of the HRC is to end discrimination against LGBT individuals and realize “a world where lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people are ensured equality and embraced as full members of society at home, at work and in every community.” PDA Investigations shares the HRC’s vision of a world of acceptance and equality for all. PDA Investigations has supported this cause through numerous donations and by supporting the political actions taken by the HRC to end discrimination against LGBT individuals and promote equality for LGBT individuals.

The Special Olympics is a non-profit organization founded in 1968 by Eunice Kennedy Shriver. The mission of this organization is “to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities…” and its vision is the creation of a better world “by fostering the acceptance and inclusion of all people.” Special Olympics aims to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities by allowing them to engage in competition, develop athletic skills, find their talents and strengths, build confidence, improve their health, and much more. We believe strongly in the positive impact that sports and athletic competitions have on the well-being of individuals with disabilities and has made many donations to Special Olympics in order to contribute to this organizations’ mission and vision.

Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence (SPAN) is a non-profit, “human rights organization committed to ending violence against adults, youth and children through support, advocacy, education and community organizing.” Since 1979, SPAN has provided shelter, resources and advocacy to victims of interpersonal violence in Boulder county and surrounding areas. SPAN strives to “provide meaningful and effective support and resources” to those affected by interpersonal violence, “implement violence prevention initiatives that promote safety, dignity and liberation for all people,” and “engage individuals, groups, policy makers and the community at large in efforts that promote economic, racial and social justice.” We believe it is important to support local organizations that provide services to those in need within our community.
